eZedia Tips & TricksMasking Graphics and Movies

Masking is used to create custom transparent areas in graphics and movies. With eZediaMX, this can be done a number of ways.

In its simplest form, you can mask a Graphic Object with a Shape Object:
1. Create a graphic.
2. Draw a Shape Object over it.
3. Select them both
4. Select Objects > Mask Object to mask the graphic.

You'll see that the graphic takes on the shape of the object you masked it with. You can use any graphic to mask another graphic, not just shapes. You can even mask a graphic with a Movie Object. The same principles hold true with Movie Objects themselves. Try masking a movie with a graphic, or even with another movie! Give it a try ‹ you can achieve some interesting effects!
