eZedia Tips & Tricks

eZedia Tips & TricksStart Something: Creating eZediaMX Autorun CDs
An eZediaMX Autorun CD will start your project as soon as the CD is inserted into a Windows computer.

To begin, there are certain files you need to have. The files "eZeLaunch.exe", "autorun.inf", "start.zoi", "eZediaPlayer.exe", "gdiplus.dll" and the folder "Player Data" must all be in the root directory of the Windows CD.

eZedia has created a small free program, eZeLaunch, that will launch an eZediaMX file with eZedia Player. This download includes "autorun.inf" and "eZeLaunch.exe". The "autorun.inf" is already preconfigured to work with "eZeLaunch.exe".

Using this method, the eZediaMX .zoi file that you want to automatically start must be called "start.zoi". If you have already created a project with multiple .zoi files and your starting file is NOT named "start.zoi", simply create a one-frame document with a black background and save it as "start.zoi". This file can then have a GoTo that links to your first file. The GoTo should activate on Frame Open. Make sure that this file is the same document size as your other files.

On Macintosh, there is no way to create an autorun CD on OS X. Not to worry though; if you name your file Start.zoi, it will be obvious to the user which file they should click on to view your presentation.
