eZedia Launches the 2nd Annual Zoom-ed Classroom Contest to Win an Apple eMac

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - June 30, 2003 - eZedia Inc., a leader in digital media software technology, announced today, at the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), the launch of the 2003 Zoom-ed Classroom Contest.

Last year, eZedia launched the first Zoom-ed Classroom Contest to promote the integration of technology into the classroom and acknowledge the teachers and students who had inspiring success stories. eZedia was delighted by the positive response to the 2002 contest, and with all the entries from Grades 1 through 12 that came in from around the world.

The 2003 Zoom-ed Classroom Contest gives K-12 teachers an opportunity to enter their classroom's eZediaMX projects into one of three grade categories, with each submitted project being based on one of five curriculum areas-Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, or Art. All projects will be evaluated and judged on grade-appropriate capabilities and functionality used; creativity and originality; clear connection to curriculum topic and learning outcomes; and encouragement of participation and multiple means of expression. The judging committee will select one winner for each of the three grade categories. Each classroom that had a winning project will receive a copy of eZediaMX for each participating student, and the winning classroom's school will win a NEW Apple eMac.

"eZedia believes that integrating technology into the classroom can have many positive learning outcomes such as student engagement, collaborative learning, strengthened communication skills, digital literacy, and improved academic achievement," says Stefan Embleton, President and founder of eZedia Inc. "We look forward to seeing the diversity of this year's contest entries, and hope that the stories from these teachers and students will inspire others to integrate technology into their classrooms."
