Apple Expo 2002 opened today in Paris at the Porte de Versailles.

The event began at 10am French time (9am UK time) with a keynote speech from Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the Palais des Congres de Paris. More than 70,000 attendees are expected to visit the show, which has attracted 250 exhibitors.

One company has already made an Expo announcement. eZedia has unveiled a plug-in bundle for iMovie 2, which allows iMovie users to add images, borders, frames, themes, logos, and effects to iMovie clips. eZedia Plug-in Bundle for iMovie costs $69, requires Mac OS X and iMovie 2.1.1, or greater.

Corel, meanwhile, is expected to launch and demo the French edition of CorelDraw 11.

A notable Expo absentee is Quark, although Adobe and Macromedia have booked show space.

Other major names at the show include: Canon, DigiDesign, FileMaker, Hewlett-Packard, Iomega, MacWarehouse, Microsoft, Wacom and SoftChaos.

Apple Expo runs until September 14
